There are about 300,000 species of plants on the earth, of which orchids account for 25,000 species, which are the most diverse plants in the world. In such a variety of categories, many orchids have strange shapes, even “incarnation” of adults and animals.
Flying Duck Orchid
Does it look like two little ducks taking off in the sky? This kind of orchid is called “Flying Duck Orchid”. The slender “wings” on both sides are actually the outermost leaves of the flower-sepals, while the “duck head” and “neck” are lips, and the shape of the lips is distinct from other petals. Different, the large “body” is the stamen part.
Horned Bee
In the grass on the Mediterranean coast, there grows an orchid that resembles a female horned bee called “horned bee.” At first glance, the fluffy, round body of this “horned bee” is actually the lip of the horned bee, while its head is composed of stamens and its wings are sepals.
Tulip Orchid
This orchid resembles a sleeping baby in a swaddle, named “tulip orchid.” The “baby” in the petals is actually the stamens and lips of orchids.
Red door orchid
The two little people wearing straw hats are actually flowers of Italian red door orchids. Among them, the “hands and feet” are the lip petals, usually located below the stamen; and the “head” is the stamen part.
Monkey Noodle Dragon Orchid
The appearance of the monkey face Xiaolonglan is like its name, and the inside of the flower is like a little monkey face. The “monkey eye” and “monkey mouth” are actually the lips of an orchid, and the flower stamen is between the two eyes.
