Fainting goat is an unique American breed of goats. Because they suffer from congenital myotonia, as long as they are startled, they will stiffen and fall to the ground. Most of them now become pets or are taken to entertain tourists.
This kind of sheep usually wanders leisurely on the grassland, but as long as it is slightly frightened, it will fall to the ground. The farmer is passing by a group of fainting goats with waving his umbrella all the way. Those fainting goats will fall to the ground one by one like bowling pins.
The nerves of the fainting goats are very fragile. Even if people do not come to scare it, each fainting goat will faint on average 25 times a week. But in a captive environment, their fainting characteristics make them the patron saint of the flock. When wolves and other carnivores attack the flock, the fainting goat will faint because of fright and attract the attention of the wolf. So that other goats can escape successfully. Therefore, in the early days, the herdsmen would raise this kind of goat in the flock to protect the safety of other goats in the flock.
