Seeking Ancient Times in Tingzhoufu
Start: Thean Hou Temple

Start from Tianhou Palace on the East Street and go through Chaotianmen Gate to the city wall. This section of the city wall is connected with the residential buildings, and the back door on the second floor of the residential buildings is open on the city wall. Longtan Park by the river under the city wall is the venue for the elderly square dance. Walk all the way to Ziyang Pavilion. If you are lucky, you can watch a folk opera here.
Then leave the city wall, take the steps between Ziyang Pavilion and Changshou Pavilion to Wushi Lane, and go to Yunxiang Pavilion to have a look. When you walk from the gravel road to the flagstone road, pay attention to the alley on the right. When you turn around, you can see the sign of “Liu Family Temple” at the entrance of the alley.
After entering the lane, you will successively pass through Shangguan’s Ancestral Hall, Jinshi Diluo House and Liu’s Family Temple. Then walk along the winding alley to the main road, and there is Zhuangyuan Pavilion hidden in the gate like a government unit on the right.
Turn back all the way, pass the former site of National Xiamen University, and turn to Zhaozheng Road. In front of us, in the plain red gate is the 11 Xianxian Temple, which was built in the Northern Song Dynasty. After passing the county government, there is a renovated Confucian Temple.
Cross the road and enter the Diantou Street, along which is the Memorial Hall of Flying Tiger Team Leader Ting. Turning to Wutong Street, the main god of wealth, the “Wutong Temple”, is located at the T-junction, and the revolutionary slogan on the door is still very clear.
At the end of the road, you will see the city wall again. This section of the wall is no longer built close to the folk houses, but more like a barrier in front of the folk houses.
After crossing the “Wutong Building” and the city wall under the “Huiji Gate”, you return to Diantou Street, walk a few steps north, see the sign of “Wolong Academy”, turn left to Xiaowutang, and the “Mahatma Temple” is at the bottom of the street. Go south and turn right to Baozhu Lane. After all, you will find the Baozhu Building, which has double doors inside and outside. Baozhu Temple is also hidden upstairs.
Turning to the South Street, there is a door head with complicated carvings on the right side. In front of it are the Shrine of Lai Family and the Shrine of Ziyun. Further ahead, you will pass the back door of Youwolong Academy, and on your left is Youyu Family Temple.
All the way through the Sanyuan Pavilion, and end the walking tour at the Changting County Museum across the road.
Visit the Former Residence of Celebrities in Urban Area

Note that the former residence is open for visit at 9 a.m. and closed at 4 p.m. or 4:30 p.m., so don’t leave too late. Starting from Library Bell Tower of Chong’an Temple (entrance to Renmin Road), first go to A Bing’s Former Residence on the east side of the square,
Then walk south to Renmin Middle Road, turn left to the intersection of Xinsheng Road, and walk about 100 meters south to the Xiaolou Lane Historical and Cultural Block. Xiaolou Alley has seen many top scholars and modern historical celebrities. You can see the ancestral hall and the “Shaozaidi” of the top scholars’ mansion.
Go west through Xinsheng Road, turn left into Wenyuan Street, and turn right into Chongning Road about 150 meters later. Soon after that, there will be a four way house Qin Bangxian’s former residence. Go west, cross Zhongshan Road, turn left, walk into an inconspicuous lane, Xinjie Lane, and reach Qian Zhongshu’s Former Residence. After the visit, walk south along Muqinfang Lane to Xueqian Street. In Tangxiang Community across the road, there is a Spanish style red brick building in the 1930s Zhang Wentian’s old house.
Back to Xueqian Street and heading east, Gu Yuxiu’s Former Residence is near the intersection of Zhongshan Road. Go to the century old brand Wangxingji and try Xiaolong. The red Gothic building across the road is Wuxi Christian Church.
Go east along Xueqian East Road and turn right into Xinsheng Road to the south. There are many Wuxi traditional snack shops on both sides. There are 6 kinds of fillings in Wuxi Tangyuan, which you can choose to taste.
After about 500 meters, enter Jiefang South Road, and then walk about 200 meters to reach the end point of the temple. Here you can continue to visit the ancient temples, or take a boat to visit the ancient canal.
Grand Appreciation of Ancient City Construction

The Yuxiu Bridge, the southernmost part of the ancient city, was built by Liu Mengshu, a Hancheng native and former governor of Yunnan and Guizhou, in the 41st year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1702). He sold the bridge to the government for 28 wen to avoid his descendants extorting people by using the bridge, which became a good story.
Entering the ancient city from the newly built South Gate, Chuangwang Palace is the place where Li Zicheng stayed when passing through Hancheng, and the interior is not open to visit.
Turning to the opposite Xuexiang, the house with the inscription “Father and Son Censor” was written as the residence of Wei Zhengu and Wei Zhipu, two generations of Yunnan censors in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. Not far ahead is Hancheng Confucian Temple.
After visiting Dongying Temple and Chenghuang Temple in turn from south to north, go back to Bimiao Lane and head west. After passing through a newly developed huangmiao ancient block, you will come to Qingshan Temple in the north of the road. The Great Buddha Hall in the temple was built in During the Tang Zhenguan period, it was repaired in the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, and the style was slightly mixed.
Behind a series of imperial examination-themed graffiti is the Zhuang Yuanfu Museum, which was once the residence of Wang Jie, the first champion of Shaanxi in the Qing Dynasty. Go back to Jincheng Street to the north, there is Longmen Qinjinli Food Street full of lanterns and flags on the left to replenish energy.
Beiying Temple, located in the north section of Jincheng Street, retains the Yuan Dynasty buildings such as the Hall of Passing, the Hall of Dedication and the Bedroom. The most exquisite is the stage outside the temple, and most of the wood carvings on it are still relics from the Yuan Dynasty.
Hancheng is the place where the historical story “The Orphan of the Zhao Family” took place. Jiulang Temple was built to worship Cheng Ying, the protagonist of saving the orphan.
Climb up the hill to the north, and come to the highest point, Jiujiu Zhai Pagoda (also known as Jiujiu Zhai Pagoda). Looking back at the ancient city in the bell, the 1500-year-old historical traces can be seen.

Starting from Manzhouli Hotel with a history of 100 years, along the former Doctor Street (now Zhongsu Road) all the way to the south, passing Jixiang Hotel and Fengzeyuan Hotel opened in the woodcut Lennei, you can see a Zhou Enlai Commemorative bronze statue.
During the Korean War, in order to ensure the smooth transfer of Soviet aid supplies, Zhou Enlai personally approved the construction of the pedestrian bridge south of the Bronze Statue Square. After crossing the overpass, you will enter the pristine southern area. About 400 meters south along the overpass road, it is the former site of the Tsarist Russian Prison within the high-walled barbed wire. Don’t miss the gloomy dungeon and the attached China Eastern Railway Exhibition Hall.
Continue to walk eastward along Nansandao Street for about 300 meters. It is the best preserved modern building in Manzhouli. The former site of the Middle East Railway Technical School has been turned into the Manzhouli City Museum. Across the road from the museum, behind the wasteland bushes is the abandoned Sherafim Church, which is quite desolate.
On the north side of the church is Manzhouli Club, which goes east along South Erdao Street. There are a large number of Russian-style wood-cut corrugated buildings on the north side of the road, but most of them have been abandoned, and some have been converted into chess and card rooms and tea houses.
Turn left at South Overpass Road and go north all the way to the overpass Overpass, which overlooks the busy Manzhouli Railway Station and is also an excellent place to enjoy the sunset of the city.
After crossing the overpass, re-pass the sidewalk on the west side of the bridge deck to the north area of Manzhouli. The north of Beidao Street is the Soviet Red Army Martyrs Cemetery, and there is a row of newly decorated wood carvings on the south. Feast on BBQ meat.
Walking tour of the old city of Kashgar

West Old Town
From the south side of Aitigar Mosque, walk into Wusitang Boyi Road, pass a row of clothing and hat shops, and come to the street market. There is a green building here, which is a long-established century-old teahouse. There are empty seats on the balcony, which is quite rare.
The fork on the left side is the Workman’s Bazaar (Kumder Waza Road), and the street intersection is the famous Wustangbuyi hero baked buns. Listening to the sound of iron hammering for a while, pay attention to the mosque on the right, from the green Entering the charming alley, this is called Moulin Alley and on the right hand side is the beautiful Guli Tea House.
Continue on the right to reach Artush Alley, then turn left to reach Jingqi Alley. At the end of the alley, you can see a sign, walk 100 meters to the left, and there is a broken ancient city wall hidden. Turn back to Jingqi Alley, pass through the old trees on the road, and then return to the west section of Wustang Boyi Road.
Go back along Wustang Boyi Road, turn into Aigzi Erike Road, and after passing through the antique shops of unknown provenance and expensive prices, you will arrive at Norbesi Road, which is full of delicious food. Turn right and you are back at Plaza Etigar.
In the east of the old city, cross the underground passage of Jiefang North Road from Etigar Square, which is the Ordashik Road where the night market is located. First walk into the Hat Bazaar on the Ajeya Road on the right side, where the eyes are full of different shapes Unique flower hat.
Turn into Chasa Road at the crossroads, and walk about 50 meters to the cultural relic protection unit Shagia Maidris. This is a famous school of sutras during the Karakhan dynasty, but all 12 classrooms are empty.
