Most Credible UFO Incident

Aerial encounter with UFO

On the evening of October 18, 1973, the weather was clear and the sky was full of stars. A U.S. Army UH-1 Huey helicopter is flying from Columbus, Ohio, to Cleveland. There were four people on the plane – Captain Lawrence, First Officer Robert, First Officer Arigo and Sergeant John.

Around 11 p.m., the helicopter was flying low over the hills and woods of north central Ohio when Sergeant John noticed a red light on the rear left of the helicopter. This light looks like the light on the side of the plane’s wing, but it’s noticeably brighter. He guessed that there might be other planes passing by nearby. But suddenly, that red light disappeared from his sight.

John reported what he saw to the captain. At this time, the radar on the plane showed that the red light was flying over at a speed of more than 1,000 kilometers per hour, which was comparable to the speed of a fighter jet! Before they could react, the red light appeared again, this time at the top left of the helicopter. Captain Lawrence called the nearby Mansfield tower to confirm whether there were other aircraft near the helicopter.

However, after calling for a few times, I heard the intermittent sound of the tower, confirming that there are no other planes nearby, and they can fly according to the original route. However, Lawrence and the others saw that the red light was rapidly approaching the helicopter. When they tried to contact the tower again, they couldn’t get in touch.

Seeing that he was about to collide, in order to avoid the red light coming, Lawrence had to let the helicopter descend quickly for several hundred meters. At this point, the helicopter was already flying over the treetops.

Suddenly, a huge object crossed not far in front of the helicopter. This is a cigar-shaped metal object with a red light at the front. Isn’t this the red light that flew over quickly? Fortunately, Lawrence had excellent driving skills and did not hit the object. I saw a beam of green light from the tail of the metal object, sweeping from the front end of the helicopter to the tail.

Lawrence and others were stunned by the object in front of them. As soldiers who fly a plane, they have never seen such an aircraft. What surprised them even more was that when the object hovered in front of the helicopter, the helicopter was not under their control.

After the green light was turned off, the helicopter actually started to climb by itself, and the metal object also rose with the helicopter. After dozens of seconds, the metal object began to circle in front of the helicopter, and after hovering for more than ten seconds, it flew westward quickly. Soon, the object disappeared.

The helicopter was flying normally again, and Lawrence and the others did not regain their senses for a long time, and flew the plane to the airport in Cleveland in confusion. Afterwards, they learned that just after their call with the Mansfield tower was over, the tower’s radio communication was completely cut off, before returning to normal after 10 minutes. The reason for the interruption of communication has not been identified.

Meteor shower across the sky?

Coincidentally, the cigar-shaped metal object was also seen on the ground at almost the same time on the same day.

At the time, a woman was driving home with several children. The children were attracted by a red light moving fast across the sky, and the woman pulled over to the side of the road and got out to check. At this moment, the red light quickly flew towards their location. Only then did they see that it was not a lamp, but an aircraft as large as an airship, the size of a school bus.

Fragments of Halley’s Comet cause a spectacular Orionid meteor shower on Earth. Some believe that the 1973 UFO was a meteor shower.

At the same time, a helicopter appeared in the sky, and the aircraft hovered over the helicopter and turned on a green light, illuminating the helicopter, and the trees and roads below the helicopter were also illuminated green.

Everyone was terrified and hurried back to the car. After a while, they saw the aircraft fly away. The helicopter also flew away after resuming flight.

There were eyewitnesses in the air and on the ground, which means that the craft did appear. So, what exactly is that aircraft?

An expert who studies UFOs thinks it may be the Orionids. The Orionids are one of the seven major meteor showers in the world, caused by debris from the famous Halley’s Comet. Every time the famous comet makes its way around the sun, it leaves fragments of comet in its orbit.

These comet fragments are encountered each year in early October and early November as Earth approaches the orbital position of Halley’s Comet. These fragments hit our atmosphere at high speed, forming meteor showers.

The peak of the Orionids usually occurs in late October. The time when Lawrence and the others saw the aircraft with the red light coincided with the peak of the meteor shower. So, what they saw was really a meteor?

Some people have raised doubts. We all know that meteors are fleeting and last in the sky for only a few seconds, while the aircraft with the red light appeared to disappear for at least 5 minutes.

And the object with the red light can fly parallel to the helicopter and hover in the sky, and all witnesses can clearly see its shape. Therefore, it can be determined that the aircraft is not a meteor.

Mysterious high-tech plane

Others believe that some type of aircraft with advanced technology was flying in the sky that night. But soon, this claim was also dismissed.

First of all, according to the regulations of the FAA, when this aircraft is close to the helicopter, it either flies above the tail of the helicopter, or the tail is facing the helicopter, and can fly in front of the helicopter, but cannot hover in front of the helicopter sideways.

In addition, as required, the top and bottom of the aircraft fuselage should be equipped with strobe lights or beacons. And that mysterious aircraft only had red lights at the front. This clearly does not meet the requirements.

So far, no one is sure what a cigar-shaped UFO is.

In addition to failing to meet prescribed design and flight specifications, the features of that aircraft also raised doubts that it was man-made. First of all, that aircraft can suddenly accelerate, can also suddenly decelerate, and can hover.

As mentioned earlier, the aircraft was shaped like a cigar and had no structures such as wings. In terms of technology at the time, no aircraft had such capabilities. Secondly, according to eyewitnesses, there is almost no sound when the aircraft is approaching.

If it is a man-made aircraft, generally speaking, the engine of the aircraft will make some noise.

In the 1970s, the United States did not yet have the capability to build such advanced aircraft.

So, what exactly is that mysterious flying machine? There is still no answer to this question, but because there are many witnesses who describe the situation and the shape of the aircraft are almost the same, and they witnessed the whole event from different angles, so many people believe that this event really happened, that mysterious Aircraft are real. It was also recorded in the U.S.

Pentagon’s UFO investigation report, and through extensive investigation and analysis, it is considered one of the most credible UFO incidents. As for what it is, perhaps when it reappears in the future, the answer will emerge.
