Space research that makes you lie down and earn money

Do you think you study too hard and want to lie flat? Now there is a chance for you to lie down all day, contribute to science and get rich bonuses. Are you willing to try? Don’t rush to promise. First learn about this special task.

Lie down and simulate weightlessness

In the weightless environment of space, astronauts’ bodies will undergo many changes, such as head swelling, muscle atrophy and so on. Scientists need to study how to keep astronauts healthy in space, but it is expensive and difficult to conduct research directly in space. Therefore, some space agencies recruit volunteers to stay in bed for a long time to simulate the physical state of weightlessness in space and study their physical changes, so as to provide important data for improving the health of astronauts. In addition, the data obtained from volunteers can also be used for long-term bedridden patients to help them recover better.

Volunteers usually need to be in good health and can stay in bed for 5 ~ 90 days in the research center, with a maximum reward of about 130000 yuan.

Are you excited?

Lying flat is so uncomfortable

It’s just that this is not what you think of as “lying down”. First of all, the bed is not placed horizontally, and the end of the bed is about 20cm higher than the head of the bed. In this way, you can more accurately simulate the body state after weightlessness. You may feel dizzy due to brain congestion, or your head may be pushed to the head of the bed when you fall asleep; Secondly, in order to simulate the closed environment of astronauts in spacecraft, the carbon dioxide concentration in the laboratory will be relatively high, which may make you feel bored; Finally, during the study, you should ensure that at least one arm is close to the bed, that is, you can lean on your side or lie down, but never get up.

Volunteers were given special masks to measure the amount of oxygen they inhaled and carbon dioxide they exhaled.

During this time, all your physical data will be monitored, and sometimes lie down and exercise under the guidance of researchers.

Lie down to eat, take a bath and go to the bathroom

What about eating, bathing and going to the bathroom? All in bed.

The research center will carefully prepare delicious meals for you, but you can’t get up for dinner, which will obviously greatly reduce the dining experience. In order to ensure the accuracy of the data, meals should be carried out according to the plan and snacks should not be eaten at will; The toilet can only use the same urinal as the bedridden patient; The most challenging thing is to take a bath. You have to take a shower with a shower in your hand while lying down. It often happens that you pour water into your nostrils.

In addition to cooperating with the daily inspection and completing the experimental project, you can spend the rest of your time freely. There is no problem surfing the Internet, playing games, reading books and contacting your family, provided you can’t get up.

Throw the blood back

Because your head is low and your feet are high for a long time, your blood will flow more to your head. At this time, a special test is needed.

You’ll be transferred to a machine called a “short arm centrifuge”. Its principle is similar to that of a washing machine. You’ll lie down and be “tossed” to make the blood flow back to your feet. By studying the rotation of different positions, researchers found effective measures to combat the blood backflow caused by weightlessness, so as to prepare astronauts for long-term missions to distant planets in the future.

It’s not that easy to get up

After the experiment, you can finally get up. However, after a period of “space experience”, you have a series of symptoms. Just like astronauts who have just returned to earth, you must take time to readjust to “life on earth”.

Researchers will slowly adjust your bed to be perpendicular to the ground to help you stand, but you are like a baby with weak legs and no sense of balance. You may not be able to stand in a few minutes. Once upon a time, volunteers stood up and their heart beat faster, dizziness and cold sweat flowed.

After you stand up, you can’t go home right away. You have to undergo rehabilitation training for several weeks.
