Do I need to put disinfectant in washing clothes? If you don’t know this, you can use it for nothing!

Underwear, socks, coats, pants…

Daily laundry

Do I need to use a disinfectant?

If your washing machine has functions such as high-temperature drying and ultraviolet sterilization, you don’t need disinfectant.

Both washing and high temperature can sterilize.

Only by washing alone, the sterilization effect cannot be guaranteed. Especially in damp areas, clothes are not dry after washing for a long time, and bacteria that have not been washed off grow fast. In the blink of an eye, four generations live together.

High-temperature drying is equivalent to a guarantee of sterilization, even if there are fish that slip through the net, it is difficult to grow on dry clothes.

However, if your clothes cannot tolerate high temperatures, or your washing machine does not have other functions, using disinfectant rationally is like wearing a body armor.

You don’t have to be shot if you don’t need it, you feel more at ease if you use it.

Generally speaking, the labels of clothes will indicate whether they are resistant to high temperatures.

What should I do if there is residual disinfectant?

Will it hurt the body or clothes?

Disinfectants on the market will be put on the shelves after strict testing of the toxicology and fabric effects of the products in accordance with national standards.

The wear and tear of the disinfectant to the fabric can be said to be as weak as the wear and tear of daily clothes.

And we usually wash clothes, we usually do one wash two rinses, some even three rinses. In this case, there will be very little disinfectant components remaining on the final clothes.

As long as it is used correctly in accordance with the recommended method of the product, it will not cause harm to the human body and fabrics.

Some friends may think that you are talking nonsense – the smell of disinfectant is so strong that you still feel uncomfortable in your nose after washing your clothes for a long time. How can there be less residue?

This is because even if the phenol and quaternary ammonium salt disinfectants remain a little bit, they still emit a unique smell, which is difficult to completely wash off.

Although this kind of smell is not harmful to the human body, if you are really uncomfortable – you can try a quaternary ammonium disinfectant, which has a milder smell than a phenolic disinfectant.

If you are a small partner with sensitive skin and prone to allergies, or pregnant women, infants and young children, you can consult a doctor before making a choice.

I bought clothing sterilization liquid,

Do I still need to buy disinfectant?

Help you save money: just choose one to buy!

What can be called “disinfectant” is the “elimination product” recognized by the state. A series of standards such as sterilization of “elimination products” are very strict, and it is very difficult to register.

This kind of “disinfectant” products cannot be added with functions other than “disinfection”.

“Clothing antibacterial liquid” is a derivative of “disinfectant”. The formula and concentration can be adjusted without such strict requirements.

In general, the “disinfectant” can be used on many objects, and the standards are strict and reliable.

“Clothing sterilization liquid” is more water-soluble, especially suitable for washing clothes, with more choices of different clothes and functions.

If you have high requirements for disinfection, and don’t bother to study which one is better, buy the “disinfectant” and work together.

This disinfectant

Must be used separately from laundry detergent!

Be optimistic when using disinfectant-do not mix quaternary ammonium salt disinfectant with laundry detergent.

Quaternary ammonium salt disinfectant is a cationic disinfectant, which will neutralize the anions in the laundry detergent, and the sterilization effect and washing effect will be greatly reduced, and both money will be wasted!

The correct usage of quaternary ammonium salt disinfectant is:

1. After the washing phase is over, add quaternary ammonium salt disinfectant in the rinsing phase.

2. If you are using a washing machine, just add it directly to the softener tank.

Phenolic disinfectant is not so restrictive. Soaking, pre-washing, washing, rinsing, any stage can be used.

The order of discharging of many washing machine tanks is: the leftmost (washing) puts laundry detergent/phenolic disinfectant, the middle (rinsing) puts softener/any kind of disinfectant, and the rightmost (prewash) puts phenolic disinfectant.

If your washing machine tank is not long like this, you can check the manual or ask customer service.

Your disinfectant

There is really no need to put so much!

How many friends there are, pouring the disinfectant is entirely based on feeling.

The little hand shook, and half of the bottle was gone.

I also need to comfort myself that these bacteria would rather kill them by mistake than let them go.

Don’t underestimate the power of these disinfecting ingredients, even if the concentration is not very high, they can kill bacteria on a large scale.

For example, when PCMX is used for surface disinfection, the effective content required by the state needs to be ≤ 2%, that is, the maximum value cannot exceed this value.

Our daily sterilization scenes really don’t need to be poured in.

If you really need to achieve the 99.999% sterilization effect of the product advertised, it is enough to add it according to the recommended usage amount of the product.

If you wash less clothes, or the clothes are not that dirty, you can even put a little less than the product description.

Disinfectant

Can dirty clothes be washed?

Can

In the standard of “elimination products”, both phenol and quaternary ammonium salt disinfectants will be tested for sterilization. These include many common pathogens, such as Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans (fungi) and so on.

In other words, the use of regular and tested disinfectants can already meet the daily sterilization needs.

However, if there are patients with infectious diseases or infants at home, it is recommended to wash them separately from other types of clothing. When necessary, follow your doctor’s advice.
